Cupramontana: MIG | Musei In Grotta
In the various vaulted rooms you will find the tourist office, the International Label Museum, the department about the Sagra dell'Uva, the Enoteca and the Strada del Gusto .
Before you enter, you will see the "Horto De I Semplici" , named after the traditional monastery gardens with healing herbs. The garden contains a collection of local medicinal plants, classified by the function of the plant in the body.
The first phase of the imaginary journey through the traditions of Cupramontana is the tourist office that always proposes new and interesting activities to meet the different needs of every tourist.
The tourist office also ideally divides the exhibition space between the past, left and future, right. The first two rooms on the left actually served as cellars, partly owned by the monastery and partly owned by private individuals who were used for wine production.
And what better environment for the International Label Museum, the only one of its kind in Europe, with labels from all over the world.
Following an idea from 1987 by Prof. Armando Ginesi, the museum emphasizes the importance of the art form associated with the product (wine or other beverage), essential in this case, not only because of the aesthetics of the bottle, but also of the label. The first space presents a historical excursion of the label, whereby the oldest is collected in the collection, while the second houses the labels from different continents.
The spaces on the right-hand side of the tourist office, on the other hand, illuminate labels by theme, continent, region, art form .....
The museum complex hides small, precious treasures that amaze the visitor. In some well-hidden niches, for example, you can find bottles with their vintage labels, or in-depth texts about both Verdicchio and the Cuprense wine tradition. Every space is never just an exhibition space, but rather a versatile and lively exhibition environment. Finally, in the department called "Strada del Gusto", you will come across detailed and accurate descriptions of the unique products of Cupramontana, and thus arrive at the EnoCupra, the cuprense wine bar, where an experienced staff can explain everything about wine tasting and Verdicchio in particular.
